Pol Dehert

POL DEHERT studied Roman Philology at the University of Brussels, Television at the former RITCS and Theatre Studies at Ecole Nationale de Thêatre Strasbourg. Between 1976 and 1980 he worked as freelance film director. He directed several theatre productions and realized two internationally awarded films; ‘Art Nouveau’ (1976), ‘Oedipus and the Sphinx’ (1980). He was co-founder of the department of Scenography at Sint-Lucas Academy in Brussels and professor at the Royal Conservatory in Brussels and the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Ghent. In 2015 Dehert obtained his PhD in Fine Arts with his project Rochester’s world: ‘The world of a/the Monkey, an anatomy of Baroque theatricality’.
